Corporate finance expert joins wellbeing scale-up

Health and wellness solutions provider MENTAL Frog Systems has bolstered its leadership team with the appointment of former FanDuel and Sharktower CFO Brendan Waters as the company’s first CFO.

Waters brings extensive expertise in taking tech companies from start-up to scale and maturity, having previously served as CFO of Scottish unicorn FanDuel and, most recently, data and software company AI Sharktower AI.

He joins Frog Systems as the company prepares for the next stage of its growth journey as it seeks to break the stigma and taboos surrounding mental health and wellbeing in society. He will work for Frog Systems while continuing to serve as an advisor to a number of other high-growth technology companies.

Phil Worms, CEO of Frog Systems, said, “Brendan’s insight into the technology sector and knowledge of the investment environment will provide us with the expertise we need to take our business to the next level. It’s an exciting time to join us and I’m delighted to welcome him to our leadership team.

Brendan Waters said, “There is tremendous growth potential for Frog Systems through increased demand for wellness solutions, particularly to support employees. The economic cost of poor mental and physical health is rising and the team has created a product that meets the expectations of this growing market. I am very excited to be working with the great people at Frog Systems to help them prepare for the next phase of business growth.

Frog Systems has raised £2.1m to date, which it has invested in talent and the development of its Ashia wellness product set for the enterprise and SME markets. Its acquisition of a blue chip client list has provided the company with hard evidence and confidence that the wellness market is growing and receptive to evidence-based digital solutions.

Nick Kuenssberg, President of Frog Systems, added, “Brendan has a deep understanding of the high-tech space. The knowledge he has acquired during his career as an investor, investee, financial advisor and chief financial officer will be invaluable to us.
