Corporate finance firm IBI has hired Cantor Fitzgerald’s Liam Kiely to lead its technology and healthcare division, advising on mergers and acquisitions and raising capital, including initial public offerings (IPOs).
BI Corporate Finance has also promoted James Doody within the company to the head of its growth capital division.
Liam Kiely joins IBI from Cantor Fitzgerald and previously worked at Goodbody Corporate Finance and Société Générale.
He has raised several hundred million euros for Irish tech companies in recent years, arranging finance at every stage of the cycle, from seed money to IPO.
James Doody has been appointed Director and Head of Development Capital at IBI where he has worked since 2013.
He previously worked for Bank of Ireland Global Markets. During his career at IBI, he raised capital for companies such as Integrated Facility Solutions and ATXA Therapeutics, and advised on sales transactions at Pathfinder Consulting, Top Oil and Vantage Resources.
IBI chief executive Tom Godfrey said the appointments come as the company experiences significant growth across the business.
“Businesses are rapidly moving away from Covid and moving forward with ambitious growth plans, and there is a particular demand from fast-growing companies to secure capital to support their plans. Liam and James will play a key role in developing innovative and profitable solutions to support growth, ”he said.
