A new partner specializing in corporate finance has joined MinterEllison after seven years working internally at one of Australia’s largest banks.
After seven years at Westpac Institutional Bank, Amela McPherson has returned to MinterEllison as a partner in its financial solutions team.
Based in Sydney, Ms. McPherson has 15 years of finance experience with BigLaw firms and major financial institutions. This includes business loans, leveraged finance and corporate finance, as well as project and real estate finance.
Commenting on the appointment, James Mok, Head of Financial Solutions Group and Partner, said: “We are delighted to welcome Amela back as a partner.
“With her extensive experience in a wide range of financing transactions and markets, she will play an important role in the growth and development of our team and our client relationships.”
Ms McPherson said one of her favorite things about working on the agreements is the “ability to collaborate with many stakeholders” towards a common goal.
“It’s the compromise to find common ground that motivates me,” Ms. McPherson said. “I’m thrilled to be back at MinterEllison, where I first got a taste of working in a truly collaborative environment with a high performance culture.”
