Felix Ernst is senior advisor at Kroll Corporate Finance, based in Frankfurt. His practice spans across Europe with a focus on German-speaking countries and oriented towards the energy and utility sectors.
Since 2014, he has held senior advisory positions providing strategic and transactional advice to the private and public sectors. His client experience also includes trading houses, pension funds and infrastructure funds.
Prior to joining Kroll, Felix worked at Merrill Lynch Europe Limited (Merrill Lynch), where he was responsible for building long-term relationships with key European energy and utility players, as well as initiating renewable energy transactions for the M&A practice of Merrill Lynch.
Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Felix developed the origination business for the EDFT/Crédit Agricole joint venture, where he developed and initiated the joint venture’s forays into physical coal-related transactions in Asia, focusing focusing on Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and India. In many of his previous roles, he specialized in long-term fixed power contracts where he managed all associated credit, price and market risks with a transaction horizon of up to 10 years.
Between 2006 and 2009, Felix also held the position of Director of Global Markets, European Power, Gas and Coal Origin at Deutsche Bank, where he was at the forefront of the entry of banks into European energy markets. This led him to develop a line of business that positioned Deutsche Bank as a market-leading clearing bank. This then led to his appointment to the EEX Board.
