In the wake of the installation of a new leader in consulting, Baker Tilly strengthened its Corporate Finance practice with Kuber Rai, a veteran of the investment and transactions scene.

Kuber Rai is an international banker and investment professional with 25 years of experience gained in a Big Four (in EY’s Transaction Advisory Services practice, early in Rai’s career), in banking institutions (HSBC , Indian ICICI Bank and First Abu Dhabi Bank) and in investment companies (among others at GII Capital of Dubai, where he was CFO).

Previous experience includes work on mergers and acquisitions, including origination and transaction planning, financial due diligence, tax advice and transaction support; oversee millions of private equity / family office assets under management; and lead the establishment of new banking entities in multiple jurisdictions including Libya, Singapore, India, Qatar and UK (at First Abu Dhabi Bank).

Rai also has extensive consulting experience, having led multiple digitization, process reengineering, performance management, merger-integration and change management initiatives across various geographies. Its customers included American Express, Coca Cola, McDonalds, Hilton, Mitsui and Toshiba.

Appointed Senior Partner, Rai now leads Baker Tilly’s Transactions practice in the Middle East. He is based in the firm’s Dubai office.

“With his vast experience in banking, transactions and consulting, Kuber will be a tremendous asset to Baker Tilly in the Middle East,” said Mago Singh, the company’s managing partner for the region, who also spoke on the week last his joy to welcome Rajesh Menon to the company.

Globally, Baker Tilly has 37,000 employees generating over $ 4 billion in costs. The network is headed by US President Alan Whitman and Dutch CEO Ted Verkade.
